We would like to cordially invite you to participate in the United Nations Debate at Oak House School! Students from around the world will be joining our forum held online on Friday 22 (from 3:00 p.m. at 6:00 p.m.) and Saturday 23 (from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) in January 2021.

A Model United Nations (MUN) is an event in which delegates represent a UN country and attempt to come up with solutions to problems presented through the use of debate. It’s an excellent way to develop your team building and speaking skills, and is a valuable experience for CAS! It will also ensure you are practised and ready for when the “presencial” competitions return next year. Those who attend online will definitely be prioritised for those. There is a new historical committee, recreating a UN meeting from 1938, the security council debating on the Syria issue and the General Assembly looking at the rights for children and parents.

You will have the Zoom video call program installed by the IT department, but are expected to ensure they have good internet in order to connect from home. They are also expected to be in a quiet place without much background noise.

Sign up before Friday 18th to receive your delegation, committee, and resource topics necessary to prepare!

Sign up here and ensure a parent/guardian completes an attached form, delivered to oracy@oakhouseschool.com.
